Lights are back on. Time to get back to work. I’ve shared my writings with my family for the first time in my life. From the bottom of my heart, I thank them for their feedback. Your (their) comments about the growth you’ve seen in me validates I’m on the right track.
I absolutely love talking about the things I’ve learned (like you haven’t already figured this out). It’s proof of how far I’ve come and it feels great. I like finding solutions to problems. Like a good game of chess, when you make all the right moves, problems become manageable. I like to talk to other people about their problems. Help them see angles they may not have factored in. That outside perspective sometimes is all you need. I don’t have all the answers, I just know it helps me too. When you give advice, you must be willing to take it yourself. Just like food, talking with and helping people has become another passion of mine. I’m planning my business model combining these 2 passions.
I will host a podcast (The Podcast, for now) where we smoke and eat BBQ and pizza. I’ll invite people from all walks of life to join me and talk/debate about all types of life’s issues.
Some of the topics important to me are;
– Mental Health Struggles
– Drug Addiction
– Suicidal and Destructive Behaviors
– Child Development
Obviously I’ll discuss;
– Families
– Prison Life (before, during, & after)
– Race Issues in Prison
– Jobs & Businesses
– and more…
ANY SUGGESTIONS? Please post them!
Part of my vision includes meeting people who are willing to Do The Work to better themselves. I’ll use The Food Truck & Restaurant to help facilitate that change with them. I’ll help create and foster business opportunities for people who may not otherwise find them. My vision includes reaching people who will benefit from the discussions. The Podcast will inspire people who relate to the topics to support our efforts by donating, eating at The Food Truck & Restaurant, or purchasing products or services online. It’s obvious I have a lot of hard work ahead of me. I will make this happen. I have a great work ethic and amazing support from my family. This aggressive plan is actually very simplistic in nature. Work. Talk. Eat. I love it!
First goal I’ll achieve is a job at a food truck full time during the day. I’ll learn all I can about that industry while my income will pay for my financial obligations to live and support myself. Next, I’ll get a part time job in the evening at a pizza shop. Again, learn all I can about pizza, while saving all of this income to invest into the food truck. I will start The Podcast from week one after walking out these gates. I’ll be able to document and share the experience as I progress. I am confident I have a donation lined up for the podcast equipment and set upon my release. I know things don’t always go as planned. I’m staying flexible about the “type” of job I’ll get. What I want may not be available immediately. The most important thing in the early going is to be working and make money.
I’ll adapt to & overcome specific challenges that threaten my plan as they present themselves. Even if I’m working a job that’s not in line with my goals, I can still execute the rest of the plan immediately. I’m thinking food truck because I like the idea of a “mobile” restaurant vs. a brick and mortar. There are multiple options available to make money being mobile (catering, events). Being stationary, I would be “waiting” on traffic to come to me. Plus, I could use the truck as part of The Podcast set.
I can’t tell you enough how interested I am in any suggestions you may have. You may have an angle I haven’t considered in my planning. The more input I get, the better my plan will be. If you don’t have a plan, you don’t have sh*t! Breaking Bread & Building Bonds is my mission statement. I cannot make this platform succeed on my own. I need the public & social media to get behind it. I have my families support, and you too can make a difference.
By participating on this site you help me achieve these goals. You invest in future success for people who want it. We may even help someone. This is a safe place to put issues out there and get help from people who can relate. Share this site and encourage everyone you can to create an account and “Go Post Themselves“!
Please Post your comments. They mean more than you can imagine.
Thanks for reading,
Mike
