Help Please

I’m posting copies of the efforts my son, Chase, and I have put into bringing awareness to mental health topics and gaining support for the self-rehabilitation project I submitted to the institution I’m currently incarcerated at.

My dad isn’t a user of social media and my son works and goes to college fulltime. Neither of them has the ability or time to invest into the social media platforms my son has helped me create.

I’m posting some of the copies of what’s on social media, here on the blog, in hopes that someone who has social media skills can see what efforts have been made to reach as many people as possible. Hopefully, someone can give me some feedback on what I’ve been posting on the different platforms and either volunteer to work with me and manage those platforms or give me suggestions on what I can do better.

These posts are copies and span the last 6 – 9 months. Some were sent to specific individuals or celebrities who are known to speak up and out about the same topics I’m passionate about. I just want to help people avoid the same mistakes I’ve made in the past. I’m proof that anyone is capable of becoming overwhelmed by life’s difficulties. It’s also been proven that people helping people is very effective in preventing destructive behaviors that can ruin people’s lives. Help me help others, please.

Thanks,

Mike

SUPPORT THE EFFORT

To everyone who has taken the time out of your life to read the previous posts, or any other content concerning the implementation of this self-rehabilitation project we’ve been working on, thank you. Your support is truly appreciated. We had to repost some of the content that was removed (see the post – important message – for the full explanation from Mike). Our hope is you’ll review the new posts and help us obtain some last-minute comments of support. Mike will be presenting this project to the institution for approval next week (first week of August).

The prior posts had been viewed roughly 260-270 times. Again, greatly appreciated. We had received roughly 12-15 comments of support for the implementation of this project and lost them. Mike is sick to his stomach about that. He always says, “adapt & overcome,” so that’s exactly what we’re going to do!

Read the newly posted information about Bad Boy Mike’s – 2nd Chance Project – Do The Work. Afterwards, will you please take a few moments and post a comment of support that the prison can read. This is definitely one of those situations where the power of social media would be greatly appreciated.

Mike asked to have this story reposted. “There’s a guy going home in about 20 days and he’s totally lost. His plans after his release are so wishy washy, I’m just as lost as he is listening to him. I mean, I just can’t see him pulling this off without jeopardizing his freedom. His desperation is already evident and he hasn’t even faced the problems he’ll encounter yet. I’ve been talking to him and he’s totally surprised about my program. He said, “Mike, if I could of signed up for your shit years ago, I know I would at least have a plan and be prepared to deal with things. I’ve done 12 years and haven’t thought about all the details.” I told him, it’s all in the details. Details, thoughts, emotions, decisions, and ultimately, you’re actions. I just can’t believe it.”

Mike sees that same thing play out over and over! He sees the same people come back to prison over and over. How many crimes could be prevented by implementation of this project?

Please take the time to read and share. Check out Project Outline for a brief description of the actual 7 challenge project!

IMPORTANT MESSAGE!

On Monday July 25th we decided to take down the “actual” 7 challenges that are the basis for this project. We did that due to the length of the posts. We chose to post a project outline that gives a brief description of what the project offers. You can read the project in its entirety at www.badboymikesblog.com. You can also request to read the project in its entirety by sending the project manager a message using the groups messaging system.

In the process of making these changes, we opened up posts using the “admin” setting that some of you had made comments on. Facebook took that as an attempt to edit posts that had been previously commented on, and removed them. I totally understand “why” they did that. I’m heartbroken about losing those comments.

I want to personally thank my aunt Kim, aunt Sandy, cousin Teresa, and my mom for taking the time to post the comments they did. Your words were very encouraging and validated my efforts to get this project implemented. I’m devastated that those comments won’t be visible for the institution to view when deciding to approve this effort! I want you to know that even though those comments are lost from our feed, I’ll never forget them. Thank you for your support of my efforts and this project. I love you all.

I will never go into another post that has comments already made in it again! This was a hard lesson learned. I hope my aunt Kim, aunt Sandy, cousin Teresa, and my mom can forgive me.

I hope everyone will find the new posts are just as good as the previously posted ones! If anyone feels like posting comments, be assured they are and will be treated like GOLD!

Thank you,

Mike

It was my concept for Bad Boy Mike's Blog so that those with little or no public voice or audience could Author public writings that the world could have access to. I also needed a platform for expressing my journey through 12+ years in the Ohio prison system. That has led to my development of a 2nd Chance Program for prisoners to "Do The Work" to actually and realistically prepare and change their lives for success in life after walls. It has become my passion. Many volunteers are behind the scenes helping with this project. Your support would be greatly appreciated if you too would like to help.
