I’M BACK

HELLO, HELLoo, HELlooo, HEllo, Helloo, hellooo…

That’s my representation of an echo. I’ve been gone since May 10th, and it feels like I’ve been lost in the Grand Canyon. I’m sure if I yelled out “hello” there, that’s what I imagine it would sound like. Anyway, I’m glad to be back. I have a lot to catch you up on.

My last post was about the voices in our heads, gut feelings, and the purpose they serve. God, or other universal powers? Depends on the individual, I guess. Are they real? I’ve been following mine, and I got lost in the Grand Canyon, so yeah. I’ll say “it’s been one hell of a trip”. In that last post I referenced a 5-page dissertation about God & Jesus. If anyone is interested in reading it, post a message saying so and I’ll post it. HINT: you’ve already read half of it.

Well, my Dad is still alive and life is moving right along. I shared about the stroke he suffered in April—he’s a tough old bastard and hanging in there. I can’t help feeling guilty for being locked up when I know he would benefit from my freedom. I’m doing everything in my power to earn just that. Freedom—and to be of benefit to my Dad and the rest of my family. Good to have goals, better to achieve them!

Go online and watch a segment on WSAZ News Channel 3 out of Charleston, WV. They ran it under their “smart living” category. The lady’s name who did the story was Nancy Alvarez. It highlighted a guy who was released from prison, and is now giving back. They named the segment “From Prison to Purpose”. It’s centered around educational opportunities for prisoners and the statics of the affects education has on the criminal justice system.

I want you to check that out because it plays right into the project I’ve been working on. These past couple of months I’ve been working my ass off on a self-rehabilitation project for prisoners. The project has been a 7-month effort to get it to the current state of development. My focus is to reduce the negative consequences prisoners and society alike suffer when prisoners are released from prison unprepared and desperate.

I’ve created a 7-challenge program. I’m still working on certain aspects of it. One of the underlying benefits to society will be every letter a prisoner types on their keyboard will help keep innocent people from being harmed. All too often after prisoners are released, they become desperate members of society with no hope, no plan and nothing to lose.

Check out Bad Boy Mike’s 2nd Chances Project – Do The Work. It’s a public Facebook group and I’ve posted the entire project on that group. I’m currently waiting on the institution for approval to implement it. Feel free to post a comment of support for that effort.

Moving forward, my goal is to post a bit less more often. Why? My hopes are that it will make it easier for you to read and follow along, as well as encourage you to make checking out badboymikesblog.com part of your daily routine. That’s the goal.

I thank all of my loyal readers, my entire support system and newcomers for being a part of my journey. You have all impacted the trajectory my life has taken and given me purpose and hope. With a heartfelt “Thanks”, I’m truly grateful to you all.

It was my concept for Bad Boy Mike's Blog so that those with little or no public voice or audience could Author public writings that the world could have access to. I also needed a platform for expressing my journey through 12+ years in the Ohio prison system. That has led to my development of a 2nd Chance Program for prisoners to "Do The Work" to actually and realistically prepare and change their lives for success in life after walls. It has become my passion. Many volunteers are behind the scenes helping with this project. Your support would be greatly appreciated if you too would like to help.
